St. Kitts

Most of St. Kitts' 40-plus moored sites on the leeward shore and along the southeast peninsula are a quick 15-minute boat ride from the docks. Sites consist primarily of gently sloping reefs and small drop-offs of no more than 60 feet.

Dive conditions

Visibility ranges from 80 to 100 feet on offshore reefs, 60 to 80 near shore. Water temps are consistent with the region, ranging from the high 70Fs in winter to the low 80Fs in summer.

Chicken drumstick-shaped St. Kitts is the sleeping giant of Eastern Caribbean tourism. Caught in the crossfire of an intense power struggle for European domination of the region, St. Kitts' fields of waving sugar cane and arid, scrubby hills are again battlegrounds for developers eyeing tracts of land to develop. Unlike in the past, however, there's little resistance to the invaders.
